The PTO is part of the larger Lycée International community. We work in partnership with other groups/organizations and many of our activities overlap. It can be confusing at times to know who is who? and what is what?! Below is a sort of lexicon of various entities/groups/terms/acronyms that we hope will help you better understand the workings of our school.

stands for l’Association des Parents d’Eleves du Lycée International. It is the Lycée-wide parent’s association working in areas such as transportation, safety, career forum, OIB graduation ceremony, and many others…
stands for l’Association de la Section Américaine du Lycée International. It is our Board, the highest executive authority of our section. From their website you can meet the board, access board reports, and see the composition of the various committees.
a weekly electronic newsletter from the American Section to its community. It is sent every Friday and has the most up to date information about events and activities happening in our section and at the school in general. Archived newsletters can be found here.
a Lycée-wide association made up of two volunteer representatives from each International section of the school. The club organizes events to promote the international spirit of our school and raise money to improve student life. Two of the most popular events are the annual Holiday Sale in November and the Lycée on Fete in June. In past the Club has invested in a children’s gym and a climbing wall. See the Club Int’l website for a complete list of investments. The Club representatives meet once a month in the Chateau on a Tuesday morning.
a program offered to new parents consisting of a series of orientation days as well as coffee mornings. There is also a ‘working in France’ seminar. The program is free to all members of the Lycée International and its affiliated schools. They edit and update an amazing ‘Survival Guide’, THE reference for all your questions when you arrive in the St. Germain-en-Laye area! a meeting held at the end of each trimester with teachers, administrators, student delegates and PEC representatives to discuss each student’s work and the general status of the class as a whole. It is during this meeting that honors such as “Encouragements“, “Compliments“, or “Félicitations“ may be attributed by teachers for the student’s work and recorded on the report card.

Parents d’Elèves Correspondants (Parent Delegates), are the link between the APELI, parents, students, teachers and the Administration. The APELI has explained in detail (in French) what the PEC does here.
